Corporate Certification from the Joint Commission
July 18, 2014- On November 9, 2010, Dedicated Nursing Associates, Inc. (DNA) had earned this Gold Seal of Approval™ for health care staffing services from The Joint Commission.
Since November 2010, DNA has expanded into six locations; four offices in Pennsylvania and two offices in Ohio. This Corporate Certification now certifies all of DNA’s locations.
In order to maintain the Gold Seal of Approval™ an organization undergoes on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years. DNA underwent an announced, on-site review of its compliance with national standards addressing how staffing firms determine the qualifications and competency of their staff, how they place their staff, and how they monitor their staff’s performance.
The ongoing shortages of nurses and other health care professionals have forced health care organizations to increasingly fill positions with temporary workers through contractual arrangements with staffing firms. The Joint Commission’s certification program, launched in October 2004, offers an independent, comprehensive evaluation of a staffing firm’s abilities to provide competent staffing services.
Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value. The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 20,500 health care organizations and programs in the United States, including hospitals, home care organizations, nursing care centers, behavioral health care, ambulatory and laboratory care services. In addition, The Joint Commission also provides certification of disease-specific care, palliative care, behavioral health, and home health care staffing services. An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
